There are four distinct names of Jesus: The Son of God, the Son of Man, the Messiah, and the Savior of the World. I want to break down the names of Jesus, so you can understand His place and authority in your life.

Jesus, the Son of God (John 1.14). He came on earth as God in the flesh to teach, heal, serve, love, and represent God to humanity. His authority, power, and dominion is unmatched against anything in the world. He is the only one who was, is, and is to come. There is nothing that can compare to His greatness.

Jesus, the Messiah (Matthew 1). Jesus is the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies. He is recognized in the book of Matthew as the anointed king that has come to save Israel. He is presented as the new Moses, and the promised Messiah that the Jews had been praying, hoping, and waiting for.

Jesus, the Savior of the World (1 John 4.14). Jesus came as the only one who can and will provide forgiveness and a new life. Jesus came as the atonement, the reconciliation, and the sacrifice for our sins. Jesus came, so we would have the choice to be with God forever in heaven.

Jesus, the Son of Man (Luke 19.10). Jesus is 100% man and 100% God. He was born as a baby boy and grew up to be a man that fulfilled His God given purpose. He had all the physiologies of a human because God knew that Jesus needed to be like us to save us.

When we fully comprehend the totality of who Jesus is, loving Him and honoring Him becomes easy.

One of things that amazes me about Jesus is only He can be intimate and set apart at the EXACT SAME TIME. Only He can be simultaneously divine and relatable. This is what make Him extraordinary, and this is what makes Him worth living for.

To know Jesus is to truly love Him.
